Domaine de Vaugouard Golf Course, Fortenay-sur-Loing
Top course designed by Adam and Fromanger.
This 18-hole course is set in the grounds of an 18th-century château which is now a leisure complex with outdoor pool and tennis courts as well as a charming hotel.
Considered one of the top courses in France, the hilly 72-par 18-hole course was designed by Adam and Fromanger in 1987 and has some interesting hurdles and water hazards - the first 9 holes go through woods with oak, birch and cypress trees, offering a different setting each season, and the last 9 holes are more technical, with a more landscaped course with lovely ponds to pass across offering beautiful perspectives.
The advantages of the course is that it is visible all year, is wooded and landscaped, has covered practice areas, pitch & putt, a putting green, a pro-shop and a restaurant.
