This medieval château, with a tower and a courtyard, was home to Roland Michel Barrin, Marquis of Galissonnière, in the 18th century. A Lieutenant General of the Naval Armed Forces, he distinguished himself in Fort Mahon in 1756 with victory against the English.
With a passion for natural history and botany, he recorded his distant voyages, particularly to Canada, where he was governor in 1747. The first Muscadet vines were planted here in 1730. The wine tour tells you the history of the Lieutenant and his travels as well as the story of their excellent wines.
Pierre-Yves, winegrower will be glad to share his passion for his estate. Between barrels and wine equipment, you will discover the way they make Muscadet. In the tasting-room, you will share a friendly moment discovering the wines of la Galissonnière.
