François Chidane produces Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation wines using biodynamic methods at the Cave Insolite. Located not far from the river Loire, they also produce some good Vouvray AOC wines.
Welcome to "Montlouis-sur-Loire", the birthplace of Domaine François CHIDAINE that now covers 37 hectares.
Chenin Blanc reigns over the 20 hectares of the 10 hectares Montlouis and Vouvray. The vines that thrive in over fifty plots are conducted in organic farming since 1992 and biodynamic since 1999. They are planted sometimes on clay soils with flint sometimes on clay-limestone soils.
The remaining 7 hectares are biased to Sauvignon, Pinot Black, Grolleau, Cabernet Franc, and Pineau d'Aunis Côt a little more to the east of the Cher Valley under the Touraine appellation.
Open all year on the banks of the Loire, Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:30 to 19:00.
